fix a loose bar

here what to do:

first of all: do loose the strings tension completely!!

use the iron (wool temperature) to soften the glue that hold the joint between soundboard and side in the zone the bar is loosing.

hold it at about 45°, so you do not demage varnish or decorations

slip in the spatula between soundboard and side.

be very careful, and when you meet a bar let the spatula in just the ~2mm of the side thikness

you need to open at least 15cm around the loos bar

moving the spatula (be careful, as ever) do separe the bars (the good ones) from the side and recover the loose bar (it try to stay down)
you have to have the loose bar to stay exactely in its rigth position, against the soundboard
push two pins into the bar head (just 4-5mm) right above the side
with the spatula put some glue (hot) between the bar and the sounboard, then pull a couple of pieces of tape from the sounboard to the side: this, with the two pins in, will act as a clamp to fix the bar to the soundboard
20-30 minuts later you can take away tape and pins: the bar is fixed.

let close it up:

do prapaire some pices of tape so that you can work fast and easily

with the brush let some glue (very hot) in, between soundboard and side, then pull the tape to close them up

do fast them as close as you can.

if it take you too much time, use the iron to warm up the glue and pull some more tape.

some few hours later (2-3) everything's ok but, please, do wait at least 24 hours to take away the tape, to clean up everything and to tune up the instrument.
